“Tecumseh” is a short documentary about a historical hero who had the future in mind. Immersed in the Indigenous way, he navigated a colonizer mindset to re-imagine the landscape of Turtle Island. His leadership and efforts were cut short but the spirit of his vision lives on today, with hope for a peaceful path forward.

“Tecumseh” had its premiere at the Westdale Cinema, Hamilton, on June 21 at 7:30, as part of National Indigenous Peoples’ Day. The celebration was hosted by Cher Obediah and included performances by James Wilson, Spirit Vision Drum & Dancers, The Mohawk Singers, as well as a screening of the film.

“Tecumseh” is currently travelling film festivals in Canada and the U.S.
