QUEEN CEE • ARTIST
“#iamstillanartist to me means experimenting and being free to express in any way and style I want. It means sometimes I need to take a creative break because I may get creative block. It also means I am human. My life, experiences, experiences of my people, feed my inspirations but also make it hard to stay inspired with having to constantly deal with hearing and seeing horrible news, sadness, frustration, death, injustices and racism while being stuck at home; it’s like you can’t get away to heal. I heal through the arts in its different forms. The pandemic showed me that what I thought would be extra time to work and create would end up being alot of still time and space needed to heal everyday, but even in my stillness and healing #iamstillanartist.”
